LLB Club Membership Policy
Mission Statement:
The club’s purpose, goals and activities as provided in the club’s Mission Statement are:
Raise the LLB club upon the founding principles and widen our LLB members’ masonic circles by building the membership foundation and attracting all new masons to our engaging masonic events, monthly LLB social calls and coordinated Lodge visits across the Leeds and Wakefield Areas.

Objectives:
- Enhance the Freemasonry experience for all new masons in the Leeds and Wakefield Area.
- Attract, Develop and Retain new and existing Freemasons within the YWR Provincial area.
What we are doing:
- Two-way communication with our membership to deliver events they want to participate in.
- Widening Masonic circles by encouraging brethren to meet either in Person or at LLB events
- Encourage links between Brethren of different Lodges by encouraging visiting
- Link up with the province to deliver Masonic content and information at organised lectures
Club Meetings:
The club Intends to meet at least once per month for; Social gatherings / Activities / Charity Volunteering / Masonic Information Lectures. A schedule of the club activities is here. There will also be a monthly social zoom calls.
Personal Costs:
There are no Membership fees for the year 2022. (£0.00) To enable more events and facilitate running of the club, the membership fees are likely to increase for 2023, with additional membership benefits, apparel and discounts.
Club responsibilities:
It is the responsibility of the LLB Committee to ensure everyone feels welcome and safe and have a duty of care to ensure the wellbeing of all the LLB club members. The committee want everyone to have fun and enjoy the activities at club events and in the WhatsApp Chat / Discord Server.
The LLB Club will not tolerate any form of harassment, bullying, unwanted banter or microaggression and will fully investigate any claims reported to the chairman sensitively and resolve the situation to the satisfaction of the reporter. (Anonymously if required).
Member Responsibilities:
All LLB Club Members are expected to exemplify the four cardinal virtues of Freemasonry, namely:
- Temperance – implies self-control or moderation,
- Fortitude – implies courage in endurance,
- Prudence – conveys an impression of cautiousness,
- Justice – implies fairness or rewarding what is due.
LLB Club Members’ conduct when interacting with other LLB members is to align with civil & masonic conduct when communicating with other LLB members, such as:
- preserve the nine characteristics outlined in the Equality Act 2010.
- avoiding overly heated debates,
- not using memes or jokes that may alienate people with certain characteristics,
- refrain from hate speech of any kind, personal attacks, and defamatory remarks.
LLB Club Members are not permitted to use the social capital of the LLB Club for personal, private, or commercial gain, other than promoting the welfare of Freemasonry.
Members are to be mindful that prospective candidates may attend events or be invited into electronic chats (e.g.: WhatsApp). As an LLB club Member, ensure your conversations are open for the wider public, and any electronic posts or messages are positive and informative.
In joining the Leeds Light Blues, you accept that it is the responsibility of an individual to:
- regulate their own thoughts, actions and communication,
- take accountability for negative consequences caused by their own actions,
- commit to finding a positive outcome.
This includes:
- keeping LLB posts in the community (no forwarding of personal views or messages)
- ensure they fulfil their own obligations and do not post anything online / in group chats that would conflict with them.
- If something has caused you distress personally or you are aware of disharmony, report this to the chairman, or a committee member as soon as possible for investigation and resolution.

LLB Privacy (Data use) Policy
To ensure the smooth running of the Leeds Light Blues and provide the best experience for all members, we will often require your personal data to either; contact you, allow other LLB members to contact you or produce club membership reports. To continue doing this, we need your consent.
At the Leeds Light Blues Club, we take the privacy of our members’ data seriously and will only use your personal information for club administration purposes and for communicating with you about your LLB membership and experience. Only the club Chairman, Membership officer, Secretary and Treasurer will be able to access your details.
You will need to “opt in” to be part of the club Membership list, use your photograph or name on any LLB website articles /social media posts and to receive direct communications for events and club activities.
How we look after your data:
Your data is securely stored on LoveAdmin Platform. The Data Protection Laws state that Personal Data shall be: “processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the Personal Data, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measures (‘integrity and
confidentiality’).
The LoveAdmin platform is built on AWS Well Architected Framework for industry standard security and data protection.
Data Use:
We will use your name, contact details, date of birth, initiation date, Lodge and Chapter membership details to administer your membership and calculate club demographics and communicate with you about your Leeds Light Blues Club membership.
On signing into Love Admin Portal, you will create a ‘Member Profile’ which, amongst other things, allows you to set and amend your privacy settings. More information about how LoveAdmin uses data can be found at www.loveadmin.com/privacy-policy. The LLB will never share or sell your data without your prior permission.
We will occasionally update this Privacy Notice. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy, from time to time, so that you can see any changes and remind yourself as to how we use your Personal Data.

LLB Club Members Area Post Policy
Members can add posts / Ask for posts to be added for discussion and will align with the policy below:
Masonic content
Your post must have relevant strong Masonic content and be of potential interest to an audience of craft and Royal Arch Masons in the in the province of Yorkshire West Riding.
Discussion of politics and religion
the standards of behaviour within the group are the standards we would uphold in open lodge therefore posts discussions with political or religious implications will be declined.
Discussions of Masonic policy
posts and discussions about Masonic politics will be declined these are posted question or provoke discussion about Grand Lodge or provincial Grand Lodge policy rules or recommendations
social capital
Using the social capital of the group for personal private or commercial gain other than promoting the welfare of freemasonry will be declined
Soliciting membership
Posts Soliciting membership from organisations over then craft or royal arch will be reviewed by the committee.
other apps
Any post that requires access to other social media apps Twitter LinkedIn that requires paid subscription and or faulty links to other websites may be declined.
charitable requests
Posts requests charitable support outside of craft and our royal arch will be reviewed if not masonic related.
launch chapter postings
Posts about a Lodge / Chapter night or a large social, need to be newsworthy and need to include a photograph and some relevant narrative.
difference between a president and an exception
editorial decisions are made in the context of prevailing circumstances a previous post does not create a precedent which may have been an exception
Illness or bereavement
Post that involve illness or bereavement require the express permission of those parties involved before being made public.
