Welcome back! The 2024 Masonic year is back after summer recess and the brethren of Leeds Light Blues Club are already busy learning ritual. For many of us, autumn comes with the installation of a new Worshipful Master in our lodges. The Worshipful Master is elected by the brethren to guide their ceremonies for the coming year. The ceremony itself is a very special and one that a lodge will usually only hold once a year.
Last month The Lodge of Dawn installed their Worshipful Master in a fantastic ceremony which had a surprise performance from a visiting bagpiping brother. Congratulations to Worshipful Brother Mark and the brethren. We wish you the very best in the coming year.
With so many Leeds lodges we can expect at least one ceremony per month until spring. So far we haven’t heard if any will feature a keytarist. What a surprise that would be!We at LLBC are delighted to announce that two of our founding members going “into the chair” in the next few weeks. It’s an exciting time for our club and an honour seeing our brethren move up through the ranks. I – for one – am getting my suit pressed and shining my shoes in preparation. I might book the next dday off work too. Just to be safe.
If you are a Freemason based in the greater Leeds area and would like to attend these – or any of our events – please contact us. We’ll be regularly updating the site with information on our masonic and social events that are open to any and all masons and prospective masons.
